The Griffin Group was founded by Jake Griffin in 2019 after over a decade of successful Nashville real estate transactions. With his client’s best interest in mind, Jake realized he needed to expand the business and grow with the city he loves.

Marion W. Van Zandt

Marion joined The Griffin Group in August of 2020 as Executive Assistant to Jake Griffin. As Executive Assistant, she oversees daily business operations and manages the contract to close process for our clients. Marion’s exceptional customer service skills combined with her ability to problem solve and manage operations in an ever-changing environment make her a valuable addition to the team. 

Before embarking into real estate, Marion spent almost 15 years in Nashville’s hospitality industry producing some of the city’s most iconic events such as July 4th, New Year’s Eve, and the NFL Draft. Marion’s years of experience in the fast-paced, client-centric world of events has armed her with the right skillset needed to make a smooth transition into Nashville real estate.

Originally from Pascagoula, Mississippi, Marion moved to Music City in 2006 after graduating from the University of Mississippi and has called Nashville home ever since. Marion and her husband, Thomas, live in Belle Meade with their dog Oliver. Together, they enjoy spending time with family and friends, weekends on Monteagle Mountain, and exploring the great outdoors. 

Julianne Colbert

Julianne is a proud Nashville native who has extensive knowledge of the city and deep rooted relationships, both of which she leverages to deliver the best possible service to her clients. Whether it was attending the opening Predators game in Bridgestone Arena in 1999 or watching Germantown transform from an industrial park, she has a great grasp on the ever-evolving market that Nashville continues to deliver. Julianne can really guide buyers who are unfamiliar with the area to a neighborhood that best fits their desires as she gains a comprehensive understanding of their needs and expectations. Julianne played basketball at Belmont University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing which she used in the fashion industry in New York and Italy for many years. She eventually found her way back home to Nashville in 2018 where she now resides with her husband and golden doodle in Forest Hills. Her and her husband avidly cheer on the Titans and Preds and do the best they can to stay up to date with the ever evolving Nashville restaurant scene.

Valerie Jones

Valerie is a Nashville native who is well plugged into the community and she knows the city and its surrounding areas very well. She gets the job done for you while watching out for your best interest and her desire to know and understand the needs of every client is what sets her apart. Valerie recognizes that there is a lot at stake financially and personally for those buying or selling and it is this fact that drives her to work hard for her clients.

Valerie graduated from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked professionally as a Kindergarten teacher in the 12 South area for five years, but has started to move her career in a new direction. She and her husband, Will, live in Crieve Hall and enjoy spending time with friends, family, and cheering on the Vols, Titans, and Preds.

Chandler Dupriest

Chandler was born and raised in Texas, but has made Nashville her home for the past 5 years. She uses her nationwide connections, knowledge of the market, and negotiating skills to help her clients find their perfect home! Whether helping a first time home buyer or somebody that has bought and sold a home many times, she loves teaching her clients about the current market and the rapidly changing areas of Middle Tennessee!

She graduated with honors from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology. Prior to becoming a Realtor, Chandler worked in the travel industry for three years, providing incentive travel for her corporate clients. She is a member of the Junior League of Nashville and enjoys Pilates, traveling, and cheering on the Crimson Tide.
